Pair Dahlquist DQ-10 Speaker & DQ-1W Low Bass Module Works-Needs Woofer Surround
If you are reading this-Then you know how great these speakers sound
Here are the details:
Of course with the age on these the foam surround on the woofers will need replacement (kits are available online for )
The speakers were tested and work with the exception of the woofers needing new rubber surrounds / email me for a detailed description of the test results
The Low Bass Module seems to be in excellent condition and tests well / The cabinet is also nice with some light wear
I do not have the control module that originally came with this 3 piece set-up
The wood trim is in very good condition with no issues other than light ageing / minimal wear
The cloth on one of the speakers will need to be re-stretched or replaced
I gave the speakers the soundcheck, here are the results:
The Bass speaker sounded good with no issues
The one speaker with the dried up foam surround woofer sounded good, but obviously the surround needs replacement
The other speaker-I took out the woofer and removed the dried up surround and unsoldered it from the wires to fully check the cone and voice coil,which are in good shape-again needs a replacement surround-there is a set of surrounds on ebay with glue for
The midrange and tweeters work in both speakers
The treble control on both speakers seemed to have little impact on the sound-maybe a crossover issue or bad pot / capacitor-not sure
The speakers are a bit dusty and could use a light cleaning
So that is the diagnosis on the 3 speakers
