Description
Offered is a large sized sugar bowl with lid in the Red Block/No. 250/Captain Kidd/Columbia Hexagon pattern made circa 1888. The pattern features large, hexagonal button shapes which have been stained ruby red on both the lid and the bowl. The rim of the bowl and the top of the finial have also been ruby stained. The bottom of the bowl has a star shape in it. This pattern was issued by several different companies during the Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) period under different names and it's difficult to know for sure which company made this as the pieces were almost identical. Red Block was done by Bryce Glass, No. 250 was done by Doyle, Captain Kidd was done by Fostoria and several other companies did the pattern as well. The bowl is about 6 and 7/8 inches tall with the lid in place, 6 and 1/2 inches across including the handles and 3 and 1/2 inches across at the top of the bowl. It's a very pretty piece that displays well with the finial at eye level or above and a nice addition to any EAPG collection. Please visit my eBay store, The Antiques Nook, to see lots more items for sale. I'll be happy to combine multiple purchases into one package to try to save you on shipping costs. However, most of the shipping services added an extra fee for any package bigger than 12x12x12 inches, so it's often more cost effective to keep the items in separate boxes to avoid the oversized box fee. I'll try to check it both ways and give you the best price. If an oversized box is needed for any package, FedEx is often the most cost-effective way to send it and I'll use them instead if that's the case. Please use the eBay shipping calculator to determine the cost of shipping. If you would like a package shipped by a method not shown OR can't use a specific service, let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate you.
Please examine the pictures carefully as they are part of the item description. All prices are in U.S. dollars. I use environmentally friendly Eco-nuts in packing.
