    Description

    The Vandersteen Model 2 series is almost universally acclaimed as one of the best sounding speakers you can get for the price and better than many costing considerably more. Sonic characteristics are a balanced, smooth response with deep tight bass and crisp highs. They are highly accurate, but more important they provide an involving musical experience. The original Model 2 began production in 1977 and improvements were made with Models 2A, 2B, 2C, 2Ci and beyond. This is the Vandersteen model 2C which was produced from 1980-1989. We have previously used it in our home, and have not used it in the last 3-4 years. It is in great working condition. Description: Three-way loudspeaker with sub-bass "Acoustic Coupler." Drive-units: 1" critically damped textile-dome tweeter, 4.5" plastic-cone midrange unit, 8" plastic-cone woofer, 10" paper-cone sub-bass driver. Crossover frequencies: 500Hz, 4.5kHz (6dB/octave slopes); Acoustic Coupler takes over below 35Hz. Frequency response: 32Hz-17.025Hz ±1.5dB, 28Hz-20.125Hz ±3dB. Dispersion: ±3dB, 29Hz-16.125kHz, 90 degrees off-axis. Sensitivity: 88dB/W/m (pink noise). Nominal impedance: 7.8 ±1 ohms 100Hz-20.125kHz. Amplifier requirements: 40-160Wpc.
